1st teeth cleaning!

I was so proud of my little man for letting the dentist clean his teeth today!  The office did a great job making him feel comfortable with what they were doing.  Doc said that usually they can’t even get near kids at his age.  E got his teeth cleaned (I’m sure the cake-flavored toothpaste helped), flossed (mom and dad don’t even attempt that!), counted (all but the last 4 molars present) and fluoride applied.  Check out the cool glasses he got to wear for the procedure . . .

Romeo, Romeo . . .

Check out E’s report page from his nanny-share the other day.  Apparently he’s earned the nickname from hugging and kissing on all the girls.  Last Friday it was just him and 5 girls.  Report was that he was quite the ladies man.  Ay yay yay.

Summer 2012

Our summer has been full thus far.

Memorial Day:  Peter’s brother and his family visited.  Skylar (E’s cousin) is only 6 weeks older than him.  So fun watching them together.  We wish they lived closer.

Early June:  My aunt and cousins from Texas came to participate in a walk to support Brain Tumor research.  We all walked in honor of my Uncle Eddie who passed away in April from a brain tumor.

Late June: Gretchen arrived.

Early July:  Rob came to visit over the July 4th week.  We love when he visits.  Visited the Renaissance Festival, ate at White Fence Farms and generally just had a great time hanging out as a family.

Other than those big events, we have stayed busy with church activities, neighborhood bbqs, music class (and other fun playdates with friends), and seeing local family.  August is bound to be busy with us hosting a couple of parties, a long weekend in the mountains with my family and my return to work (albeit, only 1 day week).

I think I was supposed to slow down for awhile after having a baby.  Hmm . . . I missed the boat on that one.

Check here for pics of the summer events:

Gretchen Ruth Foley

Gretchen Ruth Foley joined us on June 21 at 2:14pm.  If you haven’t heard, it was a quick labor/delivery (about 2 hours from the first hard contraction).  Little lovey was flipped around, so the doc graciously delivered her breech (read: sarah’s so glad she didn’t have to have an emergency c-section).  All went smashingly well considering the surprise.

We are thoroughly enjoying having a family of 4.  E is very sweet-natured with G, even if he does head-butt and eye-poke her frequently in attempts to give her some lovin’.  Gretchen is a great baby – eating well, sleeping well.  She already has herself on quite a nice schedule, letting mommy sleep 3-5 hour stretches.  Occasionally she only wakes once at night.  And she’s only a month old.  Crazy, I know.

Without further ado, here are a few photos from the hospital . . .
